Millions are mourning the death of the leader of the Catholic Church, the late Pope Francis, otherwise known as Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who died at 88 on April 21, 2025.

We find it interesting that Francis died the day after Resurrection Day and ask, could there be a reason that he passed shortly after this day?

Many would consider Francis to be known for being more progressive than others who were in his previous position.

In this example according to Wikipedia, it's said that the Pope in September 2023

'Signaled to the Catholic Church's openness to blessings for gay couples, so long as they did not misrepresent the Catholic view of marriage as between one man and one woman'

The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) published a declaration 'Supplicating Trust' on the Catholic doctrine that allows Catholic priests to bless unmarried couples, including same-sex couples. Later there was a report that stated that the Church does not have the power to bless same-sex unions and that the Church's stance has not changed.

Let us note that the Catholic church's beliefs vary and that there were disagreements from more conservative Catholic clergymen that urged their regional leadership to not bless such unions or relationships.
